Therapy for making sense of what you carry.

SITTING WITH ED – INTEGRATIVE THERAPY

Psychotherapy and counselling with Edward Oppong both online, London and UK-wide.

Sometimes, the ways we learn to protect, adapt and belong can take us further away from ourselves. Yet beneath these patterns, there remains a capacity for self-understanding, connection and growth. Our work together can help you reconnect with yourself, develop greater self-trust, and move towards a way of living that feels more authentic to who you are.

Welcome to Sitting with Ed

Hi there.

I’m Edward and I am an integrative therapist.

I chose the name Sitting with Ed because, for me, therapy begins with the simple act of sitting with another person.

Life can bring experiences that feel difficult to understand, carry or put into words. Sometimes we can feel overwhelmed by what we’re experiencing, disconnected from ourselves or unsure of where to begin. Therapy can offer a space to slow things down and explore these experiences together.

Rather than telling you who you should be or giving you a set of answers, my role is to sit alongside you as we make sense of what you’re going through.

Therapy is a space where you can come as you are.

It is an opportunity to feel heard, understood and accepted without judgement. It can be a place to explore the parts of your life that may feel difficult to share elsewhere, while developing a deeper understanding of yourself, your relationships and the experiences that have shaped you.

I work from an integrative perspective, drawing on different therapeutic approaches to ensure that our work is responsive to you as an individual. I believe there is no single way of doing therapy and that the relationship we build together is an important part of the process.

My approach is collaborative. We will work together to understand what you need and what feels meaningful to you, at a pace that feels manageable.

You don’t have to arrive with everything worked out.

You can simply start by sitting with me.

How I work

I see therapy as a space where we can work together to understand what is happening beneath the surface. We can explore patterns, relationships and experiences that may be shaping how you feel and respond, and consider what might help you move towards the changes you want to make. As an integrative therapist, I draw on Humanistic, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approaches. Rather than applying one model to everyone, I adapt the way we work according to your individual experiences, needs and goals.

My approach is also trauma-informed. This means recognising that past experiences can influence how we see ourselves, relate to others and navigate the world, sometimes in ways we may not immediately understand. I approach this work with sensitivity, paying attention to your sense of safety, trust and choice throughout the therapeutic process.
